MEET OUR TEAM

Dr. Louis is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon and is fellowship trained in the area of trauma. His post-residency training allows him to treat patients with traumatic injury, particularly those with pelvic injuries, complex fractures, nonunions and infections. Additionally, Dr. Louis’ practice focuses on hip and knee replacements. Dr. Louis is one of the few surgeons in the Chicago area who performs total hip replacement using the Direct Anterior Approach.

achieve each patient’s unique care plan and specialized recovery goals.
Each member of the team is a valued partner in Dr. Louis’ patient care and achieving maximized patient outcomes.

Alicia Plancich, MS, PA-C

Physician Assistant

Alicia Plancich, MS, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant licensed to practice medicine and prescribe most medications in the state of Illinois. She works directly with Dr. Louis in the operating room, hospital, and clinical settings.

Alicia attended the University of Iowa and earned her undergraduate degree in biology. She went on to receive her masters degree in physician assistant practice from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, an NCCPA accredited university in North Chicago, Illinois.

Alicia is an active volunteer in the community and has assisted in organizing events for the Susan G. Komen Fund. She has donated her time to local oncology and cardiovascular intensive care units and has also participated in medical mission trips to Costa Rica and Panama. When not caring for patients, Alicia enjoys spending her time traveling, hiking, and with family.

Katelyn O’Connell, PA-C

Katelyn O’Connell, MS, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant licensed to practice medicine, as well as prescribe most medicines, in the state of Illinois. Katelyn received extensive physician assistant training from Finch University of Health Sciences, an NCCPA accredited university in North Chicago, Illinois.
Following completion of her degree, she worked as a physician assistant in total joint replacement, spine surgery and general orthopaedic care. During her employment at Hinsdale Orthopaedics, from 2006 through 2014, she worked directly with Dr. Louis in operating room, hospital and clinical settings. She specialized in orthopaedic trauma, nonunion repairs and total joint replacements.
Since that time she has continued on with the Hinsdale Orthopaedics organization as a staff Physician Assistant covering Immediate Care Clinics. An active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Illinois Academy of Physician Assistants, she keeps current with new and innovative techniques in the physician assistant field and orthopaedics.
Currently, in addition to working as a part of Dr. Louis’ team, Katelyn also manages the Immediate Care Clinic at Hinsdale Orthopaedics.
